Stonehaven Sweet Annie at Kincardine

It's been a while since we have had a new chick on the block, but Dixie Chick is the exciting new chapter in Kincardine Border Collies breeding programme. With bloodlines including our own Arizona & Harley, we are very excited to see Dixies's progeny in the future.

Kincardine Family Affair

Having already retained at daughter of Lexi’s, we are thrilled to have Harper join the family being by our boy Harley we look forward to seeing the different personality traits in the two half sisters.  With Lexi no longer with us we wanted to ensure the continuation of her lines and  Harper will also carry on the merle colouring.  She is an outgoing girl with Dads’ good looks and her mothers’ tenacity.  We look forward to watching her grow and develop.

Kincardine Gold Dust

We are very excited to have retained one of Arizona’s last daughters at Kincardine. Sired by the Nzl Champion red & white dog Rusty (Tauanui Golden Kiwi), we were very excited to have kept a puppy from this cross. With Azi no longer with us we wanted to ensure the continuation of her lines that have been very successful over the past 6 years. Paige is a real sweetheart. She is an independent girl with Dads’ good looks and her mothers’ laid back nature.

We were very excited to have retained one of Kacey’s daughters at Kincardine. With his breeding days over we wanted to ensure the continuation of his lines that have been very successful for us over the years. Maddie is a real sweetheart. She is an independent girl with Dads’ good looks and her mothers’ tenacity. She is a little pocket rocket just like her Dad and is always ‘busy’. 

Milangimbi Heavens Ablue at Kincardine

Adding a splash of colour, our tri blue merle girl, Lexi, arrived here on the Kapiti Coast from Australia over 12 years ago and has played a large part in the breeding programme of Kincardine Border Collies. It is exciting to have introduced some colour.  Lex is a very outgoing, happy girl she loves the water, has a strong working instinct and is great with the stock. She is a bundle of energy and could run all day. Her first litters to Kacey were super high drive puppies with great conformation and lovely temperaments. Her litters to Harley have been outstanding - all tri-colour with gentle natures and high intelligence. Her puppies have gone as pets and have made great companions for their new families and some have gone to competitive dog sport homes where they are performing well. 

Aneeda Toffee Tows

Also playing a large part in the Kincardine Border Collies breeding programme is our red & white girl Arizona.  Azi is a very pretty girl with an extremely sweet nature and typical cheeky Border Collie characteristics. She is always looking for the other dogs to play a game of chase or “catch-me-if-you-can”... She has the most gorgeous temperament and was dubbed the “Prom Queen” from an early age. Her puppies have all been “peas in a pod” and inherited her sweet, endearing characteristics which have captured the hearts of their new families. All her litters have been very consistent in looks, conformation and with a temperament second to none. Feedback from the families with her babies is that they are gorgeous dogs both in looks and nature. 

Dornbrae Secret Affair

We purchased Brodie as a four week old puppy and she arrived here on the farm as an eight-week-old flown down from Dornbrae Border Collies in Hamilton.  The intention was to breed from her which we finally did four years later. Brodie comes from strong Scottish working dog lines and her natural ability with the stock has certainly been apparent.  I’m no shepherd but she soon understood what I wanted her to do when it came to moving the sheep around and we developed a real understanding over the years.  Now in her latter years she has the attitude that she knows best when it comes to working the stock so we have more of a battle of the wills these days (she gets away with it too!!). Brodie has produced four lovely litters for us over the years and she has been a fantastic loving mum to her pups. She spent her retirement years “guarding” the back yard, she was always a very good watchdog - too good sometimes.  But I always felt safe with her around to let me know when anyone arrived.  Sadly we had to say goodbye to our old girl at the age of 16 years young.

Lochinvale Melrose Lass

The first border collie we acquired was from Lochinvale Kennels in Auckland.  In very unfortunate circumstances we lost Skye as a puppy and she was replaced by the breeder with Xena who was the pick of the litter. Xena is a very laid back, cruisy girl bred for the showring.  As a young puppy I showed her on several occasions and she consistently took out the puppy in group award.  Due to time constraints (we run a very busy Arabian horse stud) we were unable to show her as an older dog. Xena produced two gorgeous litters of puppies for us to our dog Bonny Ladd of Carlanrig and a high proportion of her puppies went on to excel at agility and obedience (Xena could jump just about anything and she was a great escape artist!).
